SARS has introduced eDNA as a security measure in order to minimise the risk of fraudulent transactions as well as to safeguard taxpayer information. This entails that your fingerprints will be captured and authenticated when visiting a SARS branch for certain services.

Situated between Durban and Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal, the Pinetown branch boasts staff conversant in isiZulu and a few in Afrikaans. During Tax Season (1 July – 31 October), the branch peaks between 09h00 and 11h00 with the exception of Fridays where the peak is in the afternoon between 14h00 and 16h00. Access to bus and taxi rank is 10 – 20 minutes from the branch. The branch is friendly to people with disabilities, and a total of 20 bays are dedicated to taxpayers. Additional parking space at the Pine Crest Centre (Mall) across the road from the branch is available for use by taxpayers.
