SARS recognises that the media play a vital role in keeping taxpayers informed about developments in tax policy, legislation and tax administration.

This page was created to assist journalists in their reporting of SARS activities and related issues.

Top tip: The SARS Media Unit only deals with media enquiries. If you have tax related issues you wish to discuss please call the SARS contact centre on 0800 00 7277.

  • Media Room – for an archive of media releases, downloadable photographs and some key documents (Compliance Programme, Annual reports, Trade Stats)
  • Speeches – for a list of speeches by the Minister of Finance, the Deputy Minister of Finance and the SARS Commissioner
