SARS has introduced eDNA as a security measure in order to minimise the risk of fraudulent transactions as well as to safeguard taxpayer information. This entails that your fingerprints will be captured and authenticated when visiting a SARS branch for certain services.

The city of Rustenburg is a situated at the foot of the Magaliesberg mountain range in the North West Province. The Rustenburg branch staff are proficient in Afrikaans, Setswana, isiXhosa, Tshivenda, Xitsonga, Southern and Northern Sotho (Sesotho and Sepedi), Fanakalo (language mostly spoken by mining workers in the area), and there is a service for people with hearing disabilities. Taxpayers can use free parking bays outside the branch, as there is no adequate parking at the branch. During Tax Season (1 July – 31 October), the branch is busy throughout the day. The nearest public transport systems and convenience stores are approximately 1.5 km away from the branch.
