SARS has introduced eDNA as a security measure in order to minimise the risk of fraudulent transactions as well as to safeguard taxpayer information. This entails that your fingerprints will be captured and authenticated when visiting a SARS branch for certain services.

The SARS branch is located in the CBD of Newcastle – the third-largest city in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), and is ranked as the country’s tenth-largest city. Newcastle is located in the north-west corner of KZN, encompassing four industrial zones. The SARS branch has adequate parking for taxpayers, just outside the branch. Staff are friendly and predominantly proficient in English and isiZulu.

- Dedicated Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (SMME’s) service desk. To qualify as an SMME, you need to be the actual owner with a per annum business turnover of between R0 and R20 million.
