SARS has introduced eDNA as a security measure in order to minimise the risk of fraudulent transactions as well as to safeguard taxpayer information. This entails that your fingerprints will be captured and authenticated when visiting a SARS branch for certain services.
See eDNA Identity Security for more information.
The gold mining town in the west of Gauteng hosts the Randfontein branch. Staff at this branch are conversant in Afrikaans, Setswana, isi-Zulu and isi-Xhosa, who are most busy with taxpayers between 12h00 and 14h00 during Tax Season (1 July – 31 October). The branch is situated a stone’s throw away from a shopping centre and public transport drop-offs, thus allowing taxpayers convenient access to the branch via private and public transportation. The streets near the branch have adequate parking space with car guards throughout the day. The branch is user-friendly to the elderly and the disabled.
