SARS has introduced eDNA as a security measure in order to minimise the risk of fraudulent transactions as well as to safeguard taxpayer information. This entails that your fingerprints will be captured and authenticated when visiting a SARS branch for certain services.

The Uitenhage branch staff are fluent in isiXhosa and Afrikaans, and the branch is usually at its busiest between 11h00 and 14h00. Public transport such as buses and taxis are 2 km away from the branch, and there are convenience stores nearby. Although the branch does not have parking space for taxpayers, there is paid parking available in Young Street. The branch is user-friendly to the elderly and people with disabilities.
